Agitation against SC / ST Amendment Act:- India again facing a new problem as communal violation against SC/ST Amendment Act by Upper caste people. Last day it Repeat again like SC/ST violation during April month. This protest were largely peaceful in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab despite some scattered incidents of violence being reported from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Background :- The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 protects the SC/ST caste groups. The act does not allow the court to grant anticipatory bail to accused person. The police must file a First Information Report (FIR) and arrest the accused on receiving a complaint. On March 20,the Supreme Court observed that the scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes( Prevention of Atrocities) Act of 1989 is being used to “Blackmail” innocent citizens and handed down guidelines to protect both public and private employees. This decision was given by present National Green Tribunal (NGT) Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel.

Presently situation :- This violation is support to abolishment of hard provisions of SC/ST laws. On Tuesday several organization, including Karni Sena, Parashuram Sena, Jaat Mahasabha, Pal sabha, Parjapti Samaj, Vaish samaj, Kshtrya Mahasabha, Gurja Mahasabha and others communal groups held a mega show of strength in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. These all organizations demand that “we are protest peacefully against this law”. They said that-“ Through this protest, we will demand withdrawal of this black law”. All the sections except SC/ST are affected due to this amendment.
