In New Delhi the first Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) by the Prime Minister Nrendra Modi with Renewable Energy Ministerial Meeting of Indian Ocean Rim Association(IORA)

Main object of ISA:- Over 1,000GW of solar generation capacity and mobilisation of investment with spend $1000 billion into by 2030, it is the main object of ISA.

Other facts:- (1) The ISA brings together countries with high solar potential to aggregate global demand, thereby reducing prices. (2) Facilitating the deployment of provocative solar technologies at scale, and encouragement of collaborative solar R&D and capacity building.

Background of ISA:- 6 Th December in 2017, ISA formally became an International Intergovernmental Organization through ISA Framework agreement. Now the Headquarters of this international organisation will be established in Gurugram in Haryana. Modi said during the speech“ After some it will be biggest energy producers group over the OPEC alliance”.

What is IORA:- (1) The Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), formerly known as the Indian Ocean Rim Initiative and Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC). It is an international organisation including coastal states bordering the Indian Ocean. (2) The IORA is a territorial forum tripartite in nature, bringing together representatives of Government, Business and Academia, for promoting co- operation and closer interaction among them. (3) The IORA is an association of 21 countries and 7 dialogue partners which have identified 6 areas of cooperation including medicinal plants. The Coordinating Secretariat of IORA is located at Ebene, Mauritius.
