Reference:- The European Space Agency (ESA) is preparing to launch first Mercury mission named is BepiColombo. It will be launch from European spaceport at Kourou, French Guiana, on 20 October by the Ariane 5. It is an ESA rocket. This journey will be 8.5 Billion km. This rocket will to the planet after seven years.
About the mission BepiColombo:- It is a joint mission under the leadership of ESA with Japan Exploration Agency (JAXA). There is two spacecraft including in this mission one is Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO) which help to the study and research of the surface and internal composition of the planet. And second is Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO) which help to study of magnetosphere of Mercury.
Why it need:- The main need to reach the mercury is that the curiosity of the scientist to know the valuable information’s. This mission will be help to develop the understanding about the planet and the composition of the solar system.
Problems against the mission:- The are some challenge’s against the ESA because it is a big mission and other way the length of the mission is very long. Second is the Mercury also situated near the sun and the temperature of the planet will be very high. Therefore it will create challenge.
What would the Significance:- Mercury is a poorly explored planet. Only two spacecraft has visited to the planet. One is Mariner 5 from NASA in 1974-75, ad the second is MESSENGER from NASA in 2008-9.
Conclusion:- The mission BepiColombo can be create a historical topic in the history of space science if it could be successful. It will not only about the structure and the history of planet but also it will throw the light on the all planet and their history. And another way it will open the mysteries about all the planets.
